Modern hearing aids do more than amplify. They sort signal from noise, restore conversations, and quietly hand you back the parts of life you’d been working around.
Patients come in for hearing aids, but what they are looking for is the ability to follow conversations at dinner, hear their grandchildren clearly, and stay engaged in the activities they love.
Our work is to make the technology disappear into daily life. Many patients describe how natural sound feels again within the first week of wear, with continued improvement over the following weeks as we fine-tune the fit.

Each style has tradeoffs. The right choice depends on your hearing loss, your dexterity, your aesthetics, and what you actually need to hear well.
Completely-in-Canal or Invisible-in-Canal. Nearly hidden. Best for mild to moderate loss in patients who want discretion above all.
In-the-Canal or In-the-Ear. A bit larger, easier to handle. Room for stronger amplification and Bluetooth streaming.
Receiver-in-Canal. The most common style we fit. Versatile, comfortable, and works for most kinds of hearing loss.
Behind-the-Ear. The most powerful option, well suited to severe or profound loss and to pediatric patients who need durable, secure aids.
Every fitting follows the same four-step path. We tell you upfront what to expect at each one.
A complete audiogram, plus speech-in-noise testing. We talk through what your results mean before recommending anything.
Together we look at styles, technology levels, and brands. We’ll show you what fits your hearing and your budget.
Custom-programmed for your ears, verified with real-ear measurement. You leave with aids tuned for your specific anatomy.
Two-week, one-month, and three-month check-ins. Adjustments, comfort tweaks, and questions, included in the price of the aids.
Real-ear measurement places a small probe microphone in your ear canal during the fitting. It tells us, in real numbers, whether the aids are giving you the amplification your audiogram calls for, at the spots in your ear where it actually counts. It’s the recommended standard from the American Academy of Audiology. We do it on every fitting, every time. No exceptions.
Working with multiple manufacturers allows us to match the right device to each patient’s hearing, lifestyle, and budget.
I’d worn hearing aids for ten years. After Dr. Lockhart re-programmed them with real-ear measurement, they sounded like different devices. I didn’t know what I’d been missing.
